The first recipient of the AAUW-ODC Scholarship established at CCCC is:
Melanie Anne Mather of Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to the pandemic, she worked as a tutor on campus. She has always worked multiple jobs while in school.
Our branch funds a $1000 financial aid scholarship each spring.
“I just started a new job and juggling schoolwork along with that has been difficult! Thank you so much for this opportunity, I’m so grateful to have received this scholarship!”
Bio:
I am an Associate in Arts University Transfer Student based at the Chatham County campus of CCCC and will be graduating with my Associate’s degree this spring. In the fall I will be transferring to a four-year university so that I can begin pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My hopes are to then receive my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and become a Licensed Therapist working with adolescents. Outside of school, I love to make art, be outside, and spend time with my family and best friend.
